The cost of treatment may vary, depending on your child’s individual needs and treatment plan. We will discuss the cost of treatment and each of your available payment plan options with you before your son or daughter begins treatment, so you can make the best choices for your child and your family.

What Is Your Payment Policy?

At Roanoke Pediatric Dentistry, your copay is due on the day of service, and your account must be paid in full before we can schedule your next appointment.

All dental appointments are scheduled to provide a specific amount of time dedicated to your child. Staying on schedule is important to ensuring your child gets the attention they need.
We will confirm your child's appointment 24 hours in advance. If you need to change an appointment, we ask that you provide us with a 24-hour notice to make appointments available to others.

Payment for dental work is due at the time dental treatment is provided. Every effort will be made to provide a comprehensive treatment plan which fits your budget and lifestyle while giving your child the exceptional care available. We accept cash, personal checks, debit cards, and most major credit cards. As an additional option, we also provide third party financing through CareCredit.

Roanoke Pediatric Dentistry will file your insurance claims as a courtesy to you. Please keep in mind that this is only an estimated figure, and the actual amount that is paid by the insurance company is determined by your insurance company.

We make every effort to ensure that our fees are within normal standards of pediatric dental specialists in the state of Virginia.

To illustrate we have provided the following example:
Patient A has dental work done in our office totaling $200.00. Patient A's insurance agency sets the usual and customary (UCR) fee for that procedure at $200.00. Let's say that this insurance company is one of the better plans paying 80% of the UCR.

Therefore we have:
Total Fee: $200.00 (Determined by SCCD)
Deductible: - $ 50.00 (Paid by the patient)

Remaining $150.00 (Insurance pays 80% of this amount which is $120.00)
Coverage - $120.00 (Insurance Company's reimbursement)
Balance $30.00 (Paid by the patient)

Therefore, at the time of service, patient A would pay $80.00 (deductible + remaining balance uncovered by insurance company). Of course, this amount will vary depending on the deductible amount, the UCR set by the insurance agency, and the percentage of the UCR paid by the insurance agency. If the insurance company's UCR is too low your remaining balance will be higher.

Keep in mind that insurance companies will not pay for all procedures. You will be responsible for payment of any fees that are unpaid by your insurance company. If it is determined that you paid too much at the time of service, you will be reimbursed by us.
